So 2 weeks ago the Cleveland Cavaliers fired head coach David Blatt after leading the Cavs to the NBA finals last year and is currently leading the eastern conference's standing. Blatt has been replaced by assistant coach Tyronn Lue. Blatt released a statement through his agency and said “I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to serve as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers,” “I’d like to thank Dan Gilbert and David Griffin for giving me this opportunity and am honored to have worked with an amazing group of players from LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love through our entire roster. I’d also like to express my extreme gratitude to my coaching staff. I am indebted to them for their professionalism, hard work and friendship. I am proud of what we have accomplished since I have been the head coach and wish the Cavaliers nothing but the best this season and beyond.” For me this was a good move by the Cavs because according to Cleveland.com's Chris Haynes Blatt had trouble drawing plays for the team and sometimes even stops and freezes for a while. So what do you think about David Blatt's firing?

ReplyDeleteAs the article said the firing of the former head coach was the best move to make, not to make things personal but they saw that the coach was becoming a hindrance to the teams improvemens they saw that they can improve the team by firing former head coach David Blatt, and they did

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion I disagree, because as you said on the first sentence he lead the cavs in to the finals last year and the cavs are leading in eastern conference standing. It is part of the game that there is a winner and there is a loser, for me it is not acceptable the reason that he had trouble drawing plays, that's why he has assistant coaches they should help their head coach, they should work as a team.
ReplyDeleteFor me i think it's not right to fire him because he has been a part of the cavs for a very longtime and leading the team to the finals last year is already a big thing. I think if they gave him a second chance it's much better than removing him
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure there is another reason behind the firing of David Blatt. He brought the Cavaliers to a great run in the Eastern Conference so that means he must be doing his job as a coach of a basketball team. But,in my opinion, David Blatt might have had issues with the staff or players which led him to get fired.

ReplyDeleteIt was not right that he has been fired because he is already been part of the history of the Cavaliers. And he knows everything about his team.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I think firing David Blatt is not the right thing to do because like what you said, he leaded the Cavs to the NBA finals last year so that means he was doing his job perfectly. There must be another reason why Blatt was fired.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with Cleveland's decision of firing coach blatt because as stated he led the team to the finals last year and for another fact that i know he was a rookie coach in the nba back then this year is just his sophomore year. He is still a young coach and I believe he can still grow to be a better coach.
ReplyDeleteAlso from what i think. He is just pressured that's why he would freeze and have trouble making plays, like imagine many fans expect a lot from your team especially after appearing in the finals, of course he would have to think of perfect plays just to come back to the finals or even win the championship.
So yeah sorry but wrong move cavs.
